Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia Visits the Legislative Assembly of Ontario

During the sitting, Ambassador Tomašević was formally recognized, which represents a gesture of respect toward the Republic of Serbia and its diplomatic representation in Canada. On this occasion, the Ambassador held a meeting with Donna Skelly, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, and expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and hospitality, as well as for the opportunity extended to the Serbian delegation to observe the work of this important institution. During his visit, Ambassador Tomašević also met with several senior officials of the Province of Ontario, including Caroline Mulroney, President of the Treasury Board (Finance), Stephen Lecce, Minister of Energy and Mines, Rob Flack, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Mike Harris Jr., Minister of Natural Resources, and Michael Parsa, Minister of Children, Community and Social Services, as well as Mr. Fadi Dawood, Chief of Staff to the Ministry of Long-Term Care, and Dr. Will Bouma, Parliamentary Assistant to the Premier and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs. The discussions confirmed a mutual interest in further strengthening cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the Province of Ontario, particularly in the fields of economy, energy, and institutional collaboration. On this occasion, Ambassador Tomašević informed his interlocutors about the resumption of direct air service between Belgrade and Toronto after 34 years, as well as the upcoming Serbia - Canada Business Forum to be held in Toronto on May 26, 2026, highlighting the importance of these initiatives for enhancing overall bilateral relations.
