Ambassador Stefan Tomašević Visits Calgary

Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Canada Stefan Tomašević visited Calgary, where he attended a church service and the celebration of the patron saint day of the Circle of Serbian Sisters “Mala Gospojina” (Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God).

The service was held at St. Simeon the Myrrh-Streaming Serbian Orthodox Church, followed by a traditional luncheon and a community program at the Serbian Centre. On this occasion, Ambassador Tomašević met with members of the clergy and representatives of the Serbian community in Alberta.During the gathering, the importance of the Serbian Orthodox Church and Serbian organizations in Canada in preserving national, cultural and spiritual identity, as well as maintaining ties between the Serbian community and its homeland, was highlighted. During his visit to Calgary, Ambassador Tomašević also met with John Barlow, Member of the House of Commons of Canada for Foothills. The discussion focused on the Serbian community in Alberta and its contribution to the local community, as well as opportunities to further strengthen ties between Serbia and the Province of Alberta.
