Ambassador Tomasevic Attended the Commemoration of the Day of Republika Srpska in Toronto

The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Canada, Stefan Tomašević, attended and addressed a reception marking January 9 – the Day of Republika Srpska, organized in Toronto by the Association of Serbs from the Sarajevo-Romanija Region, in the presence of His Eminence Metropolitan Mitrophan of Canada, federal and provincial parliamentarians, diplomatic and consular representatives of the Republic of Serbia, and numerous Serbian organizations.
On this occasion, Ambassador Tomasevic emphasized the importance of preserving shared roots, identity, and spiritual values of the Serbian people, particularly in the diaspora, noting that the Day of Republika Srpska, observed on the feast of Saint Archdeacon and Protomartyr Stephen, symbolizes faith, sacrifice, freedom, and perseverance. He also underscored Serbia’s consistent and lasting support for Republika Srpska, grounded in respect for the Dayton Peace Agreement and international law, and highlighted the vital role of the Serbian diaspora as a living bridge between the homeland and the wider world, calling for unity through the joint mission of the Church, the homeland, and Serbian communities abroad.
