Ambassador Tomašević Attends the Unveiling Ceremony of a Memorial Dedicated to Nikola Tesla in Edmonton

During the ceremony, held in a city park, Ambassador Tomašević addressed the guests and highlighted Nikola Tesla’s extraordinary contribution to the development of science and technology, as well as the importance of preserving his legacy. The national anthems of the Republic of Serbia and Canada were performed as part of the program, followed by the ceremonial ribbon-cutting. Alongside Ambassador Tomašević, the ceremonial ribbon-cutting also included Milica Opaćić, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Serbia in Alberta; Ljiljana Beltaos, President of the Nikola Tesla Historical Society of Alberta; David Ridley, Executive Director of the Edmonton Heritage Council; and Father Desimir of St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, together with representatives of the Serbian community and other guests. Her Honour Salma Lakhani, Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, sent a letter to the organizers on the occasion, highlighting the importance of Tesla’s scientific legacy and thanking Ambassador Tomašević and the Nikola Tesla Historical Society of Alberta for creating this memorial. The memorial oak tree and plaque will serve as a lasting tribute to Nikola Tesla and his remarkable contribution to science and humanity.
