Ambassador Tomašević Met with Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Salma Lakhani

Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Canada Stefan Tomašević met with the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, Her Honour the Honourable Salma Lakhani, in Edmonton on September 23, 2026. The meeting was also attended by Milica Opačić, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Serbia in Alberta.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed opportunities to further strengthen ties between Serbia and Alberta, as well as the importance of the Serbian community, whose presence over several generations has contributed to the development and cultural diversity of the province.
Ambassador Tomašević also presented EXPO 2027 Belgrade as an opportunity for Alberta’s participation and for further strengthening connections between institutions, businesses and people in Serbia and Alberta.
The interlocutors emphasized the importance of further developing friendly relations and strengthening ties between Serbia and Alberta.
