Canada–Serbia Parliamentary Friendship Group Established

At the initiative of Nenad Kuruc, a federal Member of Parliament of Serbian origin from the Conservative Party, the Canada–Serbia Parliamentary Friendship Group was established on 17 November 2025. The Group consists of 19 members of Parliament – 18 from the Conservative Party and one from the Liberal Party. Nenad Kuruc was elected Chair of the Group, while Aslam Rana, a Liberal MP from Hamilton, was appointed Vice-Chair.
The Group was established with the aim of strengthening ties between the two countries and enhancing economic and cultural relations. Parliamentary cooperation represents an important segment of the bilateral relations between the Republic of Serbia and Canada, and is expected to contribute to more frequent communication between representatives and a more intensive exchange of visits between the two parliaments.
