“Serbian Day” Held in Sherbrooke

On September 12, 2026, “Serbian Day” was held at St. Simeon the Myrrh-Streaming Serbian Orthodox Church in Sherbrooke, Quebec, bringing together members of the Serbian community from Sherbrooke and the surrounding area.

Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Canada Stefan Tomašević addressed the gathering and presented the exhibition of fine art photography “Sacred Heritage for Serbs in Canada” by Miodrag Miša Branković.

The exhibition features artistic photographs of 15 Serbian holy sites and is part of an effort to bring Serbia’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage closer to the Serbian community in Canada.

Ambassador Tomašević emphasized the importance of further strengthening the spiritual and cultural ties of the Serbian people living abroad with their homeland and with the holy sites that represent the roots of Serbian spirituality, history and cultural identity. He particularly highlighted the importance of preserving national and cultural identity and passing on an awareness of Serbian spiritual and cultural heritage to younger generations of Serbs living in Canada.
