State Secretary Damjan Jović Visits the Serbian Community in Toronto

Mr. Damjan Jović, State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, together with Mr. Stefan Tomašević, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Canada, and Mr. Dejan Eraković, Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in Toronto, visited the Church of All Serbian Saints and the Saint Sava Serbian School in Toronto.

Ms. Jovana Popović, Principal of the School, introduced State Secretary Jović to the school’s most important activities and programs. On that occasion, State Secretary Jović emphasized that the Republic of Serbia, within its capacities, stands ready to support the work of the school, bearing in mind that the preservation of the Serbian language among Serbian children in the diaspora represents one of the priorities of the Government of Serbia.

During the meeting with Father Dejan Obradović, Head Priest of the Church of All Serbian Saints, State Secretary Jović expressed interest in the activities of the church community and its important role in preserving the spiritual, cultural, and national identity of the Serbian community in Canada.

During his stay in Toronto, State Secretary Jović also visited the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Toronto, where he was briefed on the work and current activities of the Consulate General.
